ONE LOVE COMMUNITY CONSORTIUM
THE FUTURE OF BIRTHING IS HERE.
THE MOVEMENT
At the One Love Community Consortium, (a 501c3 organization) we are dedicated to ensure access to comprehensive, personalized care for all.
Through our collaborative efforts, we aim to build and support healthy birth outcomes for women of color, empowering them to experience childbirth with dignity, respect, and optimal well-being.
We envision a future where birth equity, health equity, education, and community building are an integral part of Long Island, empowering women and communities of color to thrive.
THE PROBLEM
Black (non-Hispanic) birthing individuals in Suffolk County are 5x more likely to experience maternal mortality and morbidity compared to white individuals.
Suffolk County’s infant mortality rate for Black infants is 5x higher than that of White infants.
New York BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) birthing individuals are 12x more likely to die in birth than white individuals.
OUR SOLUTION
- Open a BIPOC owned and operated office, birthing service, lactation support, and freestanding birth center.
- Provide exemplary, safe, quality, loving care, and supportive services to all birthing persons, regardless of their ability to pay.
- Serve 50% Medicaid and 50% private insurance and self-pay clients.
