One Love Midwifery team

Our Story

One Love Midwifery, PLLC was founded in 2022 by Dr. Heather Findletar Hines, Certified Nurse Midwife, and Lasharn Ferroudj, educator and advocate, with a vision to provide personalized, respectful, and community-centered care to families across Long Island.

What began as a solo midwifery practice has grown into a trusted model of care supporting families in home and hospital birth settings. With a strong commitment to informed choice, physiological birth, and continuity of care, One Love Midwifery has supported over 50 births annually and continues to expand access to midwifery services on Long Island, NY.

With the development of the One Love Community Consortium, the practice is actively working to address maternal health disparities and build a stronger, more equitable system of care. As the practice continues to grow, the vision includes establishing Long Island’s first freestanding birth center.

Our Mission

At One Love Midwifery, our mission is to provide safe, honest, and compassionate care across the reproductive lifespan from birth to menopause through an informed, patient-centered approach.

Our vision

Our vision is to transform maternal healthcare by creating a community-centered model of care where midwives and doulas work collaboratively to improve outcomes, reduce disparities, and restore trust in the birth experience. We envision a future where every family has access to safe, respectful, and empowering care whether at home, in the hospital, or in a midwifery-led birth center.
